I have a bachelors degree in Art with a specialty in painting and have worked in both residential and commercial interiors. For the past 15 years, I have been a stay at home mom who has dabbled in several cottage industries including designing a line of little girls hair bows and a line of handmade purses I called Kelley Originals.
I am an artist who has always had a flair for interiors though and a long time yard sale and thrift store enthusiast who is finding a way to use my hobby and love of all things unusual and old to create a business that I hope will thrive and grow.
Uncommonly Southern is the shop my husband and I opened in Dec, 2013. It is the little shop I have always dreamed of owning and I am having a great time searching for all of the little treasures that line the shelves and fill the showroom!
Through thrifting and some ingenuity I have furnished nearly our entire home. Through my shop and my blog, I hope to help others see the beauty in uncommon things and find ways to surround themselves with beautiful things on a budget!
